Application for enrolment at South New Brighton School
Enrolment at the school is now governed by an enrolment scheme (details of which are available from the school office) and the Board now invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children.
The Board determines the number of places each year that are available for out of zone students. This depends on the number of applications received from students who live within the school's home zone.
For information on the enrolment periods each year please contact the school office (admin@snbs.school.nz).
Parents of studetns who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the next year please do so by the beginning of November to assist the school in planning appropriately for the following year. Students who live in the home zone ara able to enrol at the school at any time. Application intention forms are available from the school office.
Applications from out of zone students will be processed in the following priority:
First priority will be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in an approved special programme. This priority is not applicable at our school.
Second priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
Third priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
Fourth priority will be given to applicants who are children of board and employees.
Fifth priority will be given to all other applicants.
If the number of out zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held at dates designated for all Christchurch zoned schools. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
